1-800-Volunteer.org provides volunteers and organizations with a simple yet powerful way to manage their volunteer activities. It provides automated search and e-mail tools (Volunteer Alert) to notify volunteers when opportunities and events that match their interests become available. Using the site, you as a volunteer, can express interest in specific opportunities and maintain a personal calendar of your future and past volunteer activities. You can also maintain your own Record of Service hours. 1-800-Volunteer.org is free of charge to volunteers.

With the 1-800 Volunteer Website, we have been able to recruit different organizations in order to give our volunteers more options as to the needs in our community. Not only have we worked with people and their needs, we are now seeing that there is a need to help animals as well. There are a few organizations that have animal reservations and shelters that have shown an interest in working with the Jacksonville-Onslow Volunteer Center. This will be able to give us more volunteer opportunities with in our community.
